THE VIETNAM WALL

  • THE VIETNAM WALL.

    THE MEN OF GRANITE

DEDICATED TO THE MEN OF VIETNAM
    AND ALL WHO SERVED

    The Stone that Rises
    before them all

    Were
    Men of Flesh
    before the Fall

    A
    Tribute
    of The Ones
    of Stone

    Carved
    in Granite
    to show the cause

    A
    life that once
    felt these Hearts

    Now
    is lost
    in Men of Stone

    These
    Soldier's
    who fight no more

    Only
    stand
    with an unknown cause

    In
    fields of lifeless still

    To
    Speak
    Out of Why it Was

    Once
    on a Battlefield!

    Where
    Men were Flesh

    Are
we to be Flesh or Stone?

    These
    Men of Granite
    will not come Home

    A
    Life,
    a Tribute of the Cause

    A
    Price
    they Paid
    to be in Stone

    Is
    it fitting to the end?

    To
    stand a bliss
    and see the end?

    Can
    We
    Not Make
    Peace Our Friend?

    Carve
    a Monument
    To The End?

    Leave
    The Men
    with Flesh and Feet

    Hearts
    and Minds
    Not Torn Apart

    These
    Souls
    Amidst Tombs of Stone

    Standing
    in Fields
    of Granite and Stone

    Die
    Amidst
    The Baptism of Fire

    Where
    Death is Hailed
     by Tributes of Fire

    Friend
    and Foe
    were Both to go

    As
    Bullets
    Ripped,
    Through
    Flesh and Soul

    Leaving
    Both
    Friend and Foe

    Shattered
    Dreams
    and Broken Hearts

    Fell
    as Each
    One's
    Life was Lost

    Death
    Had
    Come
    To
    Quench its Thirst

    The
    Tools of War
    Gave Him His Feast

    Is
    This
    The Price
    That spilled Their Blood?

    To
    See
    Them Turn
    From Flesh To Stone

    For
    is Our
    Monument
    To Them or War?

    These
    Men of Granite
    Will Not Come Home.

    A Poeatreeman

    If I could be
    as Hard as Granite

    I
    would be less
    than Flesh and Bone

    If
    I could assure you

    My Heart and Soul
    are One with Them

    You'll
     know I was not
    Steel of Granite

    If
    you can see
    the tears that fall

    You'll
    know there is
    a Soul in this.
