THE SOUL OF EARTH

Mother Earth
Pours Her Heart Out

To Feed The Land
Give it Birth

For All We See
Has Come To Grow

Flowers, Trees,
Grass, and Seeds

With All The Things
That Touch The Earth

To Grow Within
Her Womb
With All The Life
That Feeds
Upon Her Bosom

To Take From Her
Not Be Giving

For To Chop a Tree
Is To Tear Her Roots

If We Do Not
Replace it with a Tree

To Drill a Hole
Into The Earth

Is To Shoot an Arrow
Right Through
Her Heart

Spilling The Blood
Within Her

To Strip The Land
Is To Wound Her Soul

When We are Taking
Not Replacing

For if We Go On
Doing These Things

Tearing Her Roots,
Stripping Her Soul

Shooting Arrows
Into Her

She'll Erupt and Bellow
Her Mightiest Force

Gushing Forth Her Blood
Like a Mighty Volcano

To Spill Her Fury
Upon The Earth.

A Poeatreeman

The Tree of Life
Comes Only Once
Keep its Branches
Strong and Green
Then You Will Have
The Air To Breathe.

Dedicated To All The Beauty of Nature

A POET'T NOTE

MOTHER EARTH

I once was Here
When Life was Green
I once held Man
Until
He Turned Me Blue
Now we Both
Are Fading Away
NO Wish
Will bring Me back
This Way.
