This was one of my favorites back when we had some really good comedy sitcoms. The premise was funny but also made you wish we had more teachers in our school system like Kotter - that really took an interest and concern for our young people and their growth into adulthood.
This statement was on Wikipedia about the show and Kotter - "Recognizing that he is his students' last chance to learn enough to
survive beyond school, he soon befriends them while they learn to
recognize and appreciate his commitment and faith in their potential. "
With our school systems failing our kids' potentials by lowering the standards and cutting back on potentially great teachers, this is a hope for our nation to wake up and get back to the basics of teaching our young people to become our future.
